Should David sacrifice some of his scoring to get his teammates involved?

Post by supr3mo on Fri Jan 13, 2012 5:59 am

Gary David has extended his streak with 30 or more points to six games, one of the most impressive scoring runs by a local in PBA history. But entering Game Five of Powerade’s semifinal duel against Rain or Shine, his explosive scoring hasn’t given the Tigers the advantage in the series.

Does “El Granada” need to share some of the load with his teammates, like rookies JVee Casio and Marcio Lassiter? Or is his heavy lifting on offense the only thing that is keeping Powerade afloat in the series?

He should! Kitang kita last game na he is looking to score everytime. Takot syang maputol ang streak nya na 30 points. Individual accomplishments are nothing if you can't bring your team to the next level. Ang ginawa tuloy ng ROS parang pinagod lang si David mag score.

kaya wag na munang isipin ni Gary yung ibang teammates nya or kung mananalo sila, dapata isipin nya lang yung record na magagawa nya after this series.

i think its a no.. his teammates were also given the oppurtunity to contribute.. pero cant find there touches.. like adducul, sa ilang beses syang binigyan ng bola, wala namang nangyayari.. maski sa depensa wala rin..haaaay

If he want his team to reach the finals, he should let his team mates get involve.

What a topic, parang sinabi talagang isang malaking BALL HOG ang Gary David.

He is the best scoring option this team has..

Gary David is taking 23.5 FG attempts per game this Semis, up from 15 and 21 attempts in the eliminations and quarterfinals, respectively.. He is converting just 39.4% of all his attempts, way below his 50.37 shooting percentage average during eliminations.. In the quarterfinals, he shot a tremendous 59.5% from the field, very high considering he is a shooting guard who loves to shoot from the outside/beyond the arc..

About his teammates, I believe Casio & Lassiter are not getting enough touches (though considering their shooting percentages, if Powerade has any extra possession, I would still give it to Gary David).. In this semifinals, they're at 10.75 and 12.75, respectively.. For shooting percentages, Casio is at 37.2% while Lassiter is at 41.2%..

Considering all these scenarios, I would still give Gary David his touches.. He is a high percentage shooting guard/scorer.. He is bound to caught/heat up and make most of his shots in the remainder of the series due to law of averages.. About Marcio & JV, i don't think we can expect them to shoot any higher (actually Marcio's shooting percentage during eliminations only stands at 39.4% while JV's almost the same at 39.6%)..

The media is really making issues here. Wala na sigurong magawang iba?

Ni hindi pa ba nag sasakripisyo si David? No clear basis ginagawa ng AKTV e. He has been sharing the ball very well even though he scored 30pts night in and night out.
