Even though the B-MEG Llamados are in the thick of the finals of the Commissioner’s Cup, coach Tim Cone already has his bases covered when it comes to the team’s reinforcement for the Governors’ Cup.
B-MEG is bringing in Marqus Blakely, an NBA D-League veteran who was part of the Houston Rockets training camp this season.
“He’s a true power forward. He’s 6-5, but he plays like he’s 6-8, 6-9,” said Cone.
“He’s like (Marc Pingris) times two. It’d be really interesting to see him and Ping play together.”
Blakely was a star at University of Vermont, where he won the NCAA Slam Dunk contest in 2010.
